One of the amazing things about Sprott Shaw Language College (SSLC) is that we offer students a wide variety of weekday and weekend activities! Whether we are shooting hoops at Kitsilano Beach or cheering on our favorite Hockey Team, the Canucks at Rogers Arena, students are always guaranteed a fun and memorable Canadian experience! Recently, SSLC Vancouver’s activity coordinator Heather took students to the West End to indulge on some tasty chocolate fondue! Read all about it below:
Strawberries and marshmallows dipped in hot, melted milk chocolate! Sounds amazing, doesn’t it!? This delicious treat is called fondue and earlier this month, SSLC and VIC students enjoyed it at Cacao 70 on Denman Street. If you haven’t yet tried fondue, we highly recommend that you do! We promise you won’t regret it!
One of the wonderful things about fondue (aside from its delicious taste!) is that it is great for sharing! Cut up some yummy fruits and pastries, invite some friends over and prepare for an evening of fun. Brownies, bananas, apples, strawberries, waffles, wafers, raspberries and cookies are just a few of the yummy items you can pair with chocolate fondue. However, if you and your friends prefer savory over sweet, you could also prepare a cheese fondue. On a chilly day, nothing is better than enjoying your favorite vegetables and fresh bread with hot cheese! Delicious!
Heather is in charge of organizing and leading all of SSLC Vancouver campus’ activities! When not out exploring the city with students, you can find her at her desk on the 5th floor of the Howe Campus. If you would like to join any of the activities or have any questions, please pay her a visit. She will be more than happy to help!
