Certificate of Advanced English

The Cambridge CAE Preparation Course trains students how to achieve success on the CAE Examination as well as how to improve their language proficiency.

Focusing on the more advanced grammatical and verbal structures, this preparation course ensures that graduates will have a well-rounded knowledge of the English language.

Through close work with the teacher, students will develop greater fluency and confidence that will surely contribute to a brighter future.

Progress is monitored through weekly mock tests to give the students a feel for their strengths and weaknesses.

  • Important Skills training in University specific skills such as speaking, organizing, summarizing and note-taking.
  • Academic Learning practice in academic writing, listening, vocabulary and reading.
  • Personalized Education with small classes for more individual attention in grammar, communication, reading comprehension and listening skills.
  • One-on-one access to experienced and helpful teachers, informative Pathway advisors and knowledgeable academic advisors.
  • Monthly school tours and information sessions with a variety of universities and colleges.
  • Next Step high-level training and preparation for EPE.
  • No IELTS, TOEFL® or any other official English test score needed to gain entry to our partner colleges and universities.

Module 1:

  • Paragraph writing
  • Essay writing
  • Note-taking skills.

Module 2:

  • Academic Vocabulary / Transitions
  • Identifying Main ideas, support and examples
  • Essay styles
  • Research methods
  • Plagiarism

Module 3:

  • Academic Vocabulary / Transitions
  • Essay outlines
  • Research papers
  • Computer skills
  • Academic writing

Students must have either:

  • TOEFL iTB® 45-46
  • TOEIC® 550
  • IELTS 4.5 overall (with writing 4.5)
  • Completed SSLC Level 3

Any recognized International English language equivalency test score or a pass on our Entrance Exam.

An interview and essay is required.

Program exit level is an overall of 80% in the entire program.

If a student fails to meet these requirements, they can take an additional month.

  • Duration: 4-weeks, 8-weeks and 12-weeks
  • Hours: 26.5 hours per week
  • Schedule: Monday to Thursday - 9:00am to 3:30pm
  • Schedule: Friday 9:00am to 2:30pm

  • Full time intensive preparation for TOEIC® test leading to better scores.
  • Students take the official TOEIC® test once a month.
  • Students practice the equivalent of 2 – 4 tests each month.
  • Every lesson focusses on the skills needed to improve TOEIC® scores.
  • Lessons maximize the advantage of students living in Canada to improve English skills.
  • Week 1: TOEIC® PARTS I and II and verb tense.
  • Week 2: TOEIC® PART III and verbs/nouns.
  • Week 3: TOEIC® PART IV and gerund/infinitives.
  • Week 4: Review and practice and prepositions.
  • Week 5: TOEIC® PARTS I and II and adjectives/adverbs.
  • Week 6: TOEIC® PART III and pronouns.
  • Week 7: TOEIC® PART IV and conjunctions.
  • Week 8: Review and practice and usage.

Students must have either:

  • TOEFL iTB® 45-46
  • TOEIC® 550
  • IELTS 4.5
  • Completed SSLC Level 3 => SSLC ESL-SF Level 3 or ESL-SC Level 6
